Q: How long have you served in/with the military?

Cox: Since January 2006 (started at SMC/SSC); 17+ years.

 

Q: What do you most enjoy about your position at the base?

Cox: Variety of work and supporting the people; job is people-focused to ensure mission success.

 

Q: What advice do you have for women in the military?

Cox: Be unapologetic. Keep your priorities in order and work out the details as you go

 

Q: Who is the most influential person in your life and why?

Cox: My mother. She was courageous, strong, independent, and fiercely protective of her children and home. She balanced her professional life with her personal life, always making family first. She loved loud.

 

Q: If you could go back in time, what advice would you give her?

Cox: Don’t plan so much; you are happiest when untethered. A bit of irresponsibility helps balance life. Travel early and often.

 

Q: What are your hobbies?

Cox: Boating, reading, traveling, learning, exploring.
