LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- In honor of Asian American Pacific Islander (APPI) Heritage Month, throughout May come celebrate with Space Base Delta 3 at Los Angeles Air Force Base for some festive and informative events. This year’s theme of “Advancing Leaders Through Innovation” is a tribute to the AAPI visionaries and trailblazers who have come before us—and celebrating this pioneering spirit that fosters continuous resiliency and innovation.

- 1 May @ 11:00 AM | AAPI Heritage Month Kick-off in the Schriever Courtyard
- 8 May @ 12:00 PM | Self-Defense Class (Arnis & Karate Training) in the Fitness Center
- Arnis, also known as kali or eskrima/escrima, is the national martial art of the Philippines.
- Karate is unarmed martial-arts discipline that evolved in East Asia over a period of centuries, becoming systematized in Okinawa in the 17th century.
