What does the achievement of this award mean to you?

“Reflecting on my 8.5 years thus far, the work that encompasses this award was by far my most fun! They say that when you cook with joy and love – it’s tasted in the food, and I think the same goes for any work we put out into the world,” Stackhouse said.

“It certainly helped that those who I worked with during the timeframe of this award were truly my work-family and added their own delicious ingredients to making this recipe a success.”

When you think of excellence as it pertains to the SMC mission, what do you think of?

“I think of the commitment in my teammates to see this mission through,” she said. “Specifically, I think of the security point of contact I work with, who has been working a form with me since March that has had numerous setbacks yet she continues to work with me to re-write and research new avenues. I think of the retired members from the SMC family who are still my mentors and will answer a phone call or email on any day or anytime to offer advice.”

“We have an incredible family here at SMC – and we create that family with those whom we share our mission area with,” she continued. “I’m forever grateful for the excellence my family upholds simply because they cannot help but do their best.”

Stackhouse’s accomplishments, and those of the other 2019 Annual Award winners, represent SMC’s vision of forging an innovative team that delivers innovative, war-winning capabilities.

Editor’s Note: This is the fifth in an upcoming series to highlight the exceptional accomplishments and outstanding contributions the award winners made to the overall SMC mission.
