SBIRS GEO Flight 3 is encapsulated

The Air Force’s Space Based Infrared Systems Geosynchronous Earth Orbit Flight 3 satellite was encapsulated Jan.10 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

This encapsulation event is a significant milestone in GEO Flight 3’s launch process as it marks the satellite’s completion of all major testing milestones prior to launch. GEO Flight 3 is now ready to make the journey to Space Launch Complex-41, where it will be mated with its Atlas V rocket. It is scheduled for launch on Jan. 19 at 7:46 p.m., EST.
