  • Space Force Awards Top Honors to Space Base Delta 3 Guardian

    Space Base Delta’s 3 Sgt Tarek Salem received U.S. Space Force’s Polaris Award for Character during the first annual Space Force Ball held in Los Angeles on Nov. 18. The ceremony marked the first year the military branch executed its own unique, service-wide annual awards program.
  • LAAFB Airmen and Guardians team up with the LA Lakers for Veterans Day, 2022

    On Nov. 2 and Nov. 11, 2022, Space Systems Command and Space Base Delta 3 service members participated in basketball clinics with the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto Arena in downtown LA. The Veterans Day event, ‘Hoops for Troops,’ consisted of basketball drills and team-building exercises to bolster physical and mental resilience and increase unit morale and cohesion. Participants and their guests were also invited to a same-day evening basketball game.
  • Bod Pod at LAAFB Makes Quick Work of Measuring Body Composition

    Health and fitness often take a back seat as the holiday season approaches. Fortunately, they don’t have to for Los Angeles Air Force (LAAFB) personnel who now have access to the latest technology in measuring body composition readily available to them with the Bod Pod, a computerized, egg-shaped device that users sit in while their measurements are taken.
  • USSF and LAAFB attend LGB Festival of Flight for first time

    On October 29, 2022, the United States Space Force and Los Angeles Air Force Base visited the lesser known Long Beach Airport to engage with the community. Guardians of Space Systems Command and Space Base Delta 3 were in attendance to answer questions about America's newest military branch. Questions ranged from academic opportunities for kids, STEM careers and internships, what it means to be a Guardian, how to work for LAAFB, and how to join the USSF. Did you know that both LAAFB and LGB share history here in Los Angeles County? Interacting with community not only raised awareness about USSF and LAAFB, but it also built upon this shared connection to Los Angeles.
  • Military Personnel Flight Chief, Moises Rosales, Leads Both In and Out of Uniform

    Military Personnel Flight Chief for Space Base Delta (SBD) 3 at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB), Moises “Mo” Rosales, attributes his strong work ethic to his parents, who emigrated from Mexico to the U.S. when Rosales was a young boy.
