"Warrior of the Week" is part of the SMC Mission of the Month campaign to recognize and spotlight the men, women and team members from the Space and Missile Systems Center's directorates for their efforts on building the future of military space.

Warrior of the Week:  Lt. Col. Robert Enrico

Directorate:  Global Positioning Systems

Duty Title:  IMA to the Chief, GPS Cybersecurity

Years in Service:  18 years

Time on Station: 1 year

Hometown:  Washington, D.C.

Goals:  "To complete my Air Force career with a strong performance for the GPS program. Long term, to run a successful technology company."

Hobbies: "Other than playing "make-believe" with my two toddlers, I enjoy playing beach volleyball and rock climbing."

Greatest achievement: "Receiving my commission in the U.S. Air Force. I come from a lower middle-class family, so it meant a lot for me to get an Air Force scholarship. It took a lot of hard work to gain my commission as well as a degree in computer engineering."

What others are saying (Commander's Comment): "Lt Col Rob Enrico's leadership and drive are pivotal to securing the GPS Enterprise from advanced cybersecurity threats," said Col. Steven Whitney, director of SMC's GP Directorate. "He is fusing space acquisitions with cybersecurity as he guides the Air Force's Task Force Cyber Secure developing the Air Force's first network defense concept of operations for mission systems across multiple Major Commands.  I am personally grateful for his leadership and many contributions to the GPS mission and our nation; he embodies the 'Total Force' concept within GP."
