The 61st Air Base Group, located in the Schriever Space Complex, is the host unit at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, Calif. It provides administrative and base services to all personnel assigned to the Space and Missile Systems Center -- a center of acquisition excellence for U.S. Space Force, headquartered at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
SMC acquires and develops military space systems. Its portfolio includes the Global Positioning System, military satellite communications, defense meteorological satellites, space launch and range systems, satellite control networks, space based infrared systems and space situational awareness capabilities.

The 61st Force Support Squadron's Military Personnel Flight is composed of three sections: Career Development, Customer Support and Force Management. Functions within Career Development include outbound assignments, retirements and separations and promotions. Functions within Customer Support include Common Access Cards and Identification (CACs/ID) cards and Newcomer's orientation. Functions within Force Management include awards and decorations, and evaluations.
Our hours of operation are currently:
Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. daily
Weekends, 1st Thursday of each month (Training), Federal holidays and AFSPC designated Family Days: CLOSED

Customer Service: ID Cards/DEERS Updates
Force Management: Evaluations/Awards & Decorations/Duty Status
Career Development: Officer Promotions/Out-processing/Assignments

The Airman and Family Readiness Center now manages the Installation Voting Assistance Office at all Air Force installations. Here you may receive FVAO training, voter information specifically for your state, and the proper forms and procedures in order to vote from nearly anywhere in the world.
