Young DMSP leaders meet with legacy

A group of current Defense Meteorological Satellite Program officers meet with 94-year-old retired Air Force Col. Thomas Haig, the former DMSP director who created and managed the program when the National Reconnaissance Office established a meteorological satellite program in 1961. Haig is one of six early Air Force and civilian space pioneers who were honored during a ceremony unveiling their newly inscribed names on a wall of polished black granite at the General Bernard A.
