SMC is the number one recruiter of Class of 2010 PMFs throughout both the U.S. Air Force and the Department of Defense. Established in 1977, the Presidential Management Fellows Program provides agencies with the next generation leaders by attracting outstanding graduates from master's, law, and doctoral programs so they may begin their leadership journey as high-performing, committed public servants. The two-year program is highly selective in that only 10 percent of applicants are appointed to a fellowship. SMC's PMFs are assigned to several organizations, including: financial management, contract management, program management, engineering & architecture, strategic planning and manpower & personnel. Since 2002, SMC has appointed more than100 PMFs to work at SMC, the Space Development and Test Directorate and Space Logistics Directorate.
