USSF, SMC launches sounding rocket for AFRL experiment
A Terrier-Terrier-Oriole sounding rocket, carrying an experimental research payload for the Air Force Research Laboratory, launches from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Va., March 3, 2021. The TTO sounding rocket vehicle will place the AFRL research payload onto a preplanned suborbital trajectory. This AFRL research experiment is the first AFRL and Space and Missile Systems Center's Launch Enterprise partnered experimental launch from Wallops Flight Facility, while also being the first U.S. Space Force's first sounding rocket launch with Space Vector Corporation.
