Gen. Raymond STEP-promotes Airman
Gen. Jay Raymond, U.S. Space Command and Air Force Space Command commander, promotes SSgt Michael Toderick, 61st Medical Squadron non-commisioned officer in charge of community health, to the rank of Tech. Sgt. as a part of the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program (STEP), while visiting the Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, Calif., Oct. 1, 2019. Tech. Sgt. Toderick’s spouse, Jennette, surprised him on stage after the announcement. The STEP program identifies and promotes the Air Force’s best performing Airmen. Each calendar year, major commands, Field Operating Agency and Direct Reporting Unit commanders, and senior Air Force officers with large enlisted populations are authorized to select a limited number of Airmen with exceptional potential for promotion to the ranks of Staff and Tech. Sgt. STEP-promotions are a rare honor and Gen. Raymond had only one stripe to give this year for the entire Command. (U.S. Air Force photo by Van De Ha)
