SMC assists with L.A. veterans’ stand down
Volunteers from the Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, Calif. set up sleeping cots inside the Los Angeles Convention Center Dec. 18, 2015 prior to the start of the 2nd annual L.A. Vets Stand Down. More than 65 volunteers from SMC joined dozens of service providers from federal, state, city and county governments as well as local nonprofit partners from across Los Angeles County and the South Bay during the three-day event, billed as the largest stand down for homeless military veterans and their families to ever take place in the country.
