Los Angeles Air Force Base Welcomes New Commander and Unveils Space Heritage Wall

A change of command ceremony for the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center will take place Thursday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at the Fort MacArthur parade ground in San Pedro. Lieutenant General Samuel Greaves will assume command from Lieutenant General Ellen Pawlikowski in a ceremony officiated by General William Shelton, Air Force
Space Command commander. More than 500 family, friends, community leaders
and military personnel are expected to attend.

At 3 p.m. that day, a new space heritage wall will be unveiled at LAAFB. Noted space pioneers will be honored at the event, and several hundred distinguished guests and military members are expected to attend. The heritage wall is part of the Space and Missile Systems Center's 60th anniversary celebration.
