Los Angeles Air Force Base -- After more than a year's delay,  the Food Court is now open in Los Angeles AFB' s Base Exchange. The eateries include Burger King, Charley' s Grilled Sub Sandwiches, Anthony's Pizza and Robin Hood Sub Sandwiches.

"We're particularly excited about Charley' s," said  David Clore, the store' s general manager. "Charley's is AAFES' fastest growing name brand franchise and the one at LAAFB is the first in the South Bay."

If you are authorized on base then you're authorized to eat in the food court. The regulations governing food court usage are different than the rest of the exchange facilities or commissary, he said.

Currently the Burger King is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Charley's is open from 10:30  a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. Anthony's is open 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., seven days a week. Robin Hood is open from 10:30  a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

"We're trying to establish the most productive operating hours," Clore said. "Probably after the holidays we'll look at the times that people are actually eating and adjust the operating hours to best meet the customer's buying patterns."
