Holiday Bash Tickets on Sale

The annual "Holiday Bash" will be held at the Fort MacArthur Community Center, Saturday, Dec. 1. A full evening of music, dancing and contests begins at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for E-1 through 6 and GS-2 through 9; $25 for E-7 through 9, O-1 through 4 and GS-10 through 13; $30 for O-5 and above and GS-14 and above; and $40 for contractors. November Clinic Closures

The Los Angeles AFB main and Ft Mac clinics, including the pharmacy, will be closed Nov. 12 and 22 for observance of the Federal holidays, and Nov. 23 for Family Day. In the event of an emergency (threat to life, limb or eye-sight), please dial 911. The on-call provider can be reached at (310) 653-CURE (2873)--option 7.

Health Benefits Open Season Begins Nov. 12.

The Federal Benefits Employees (FEHB) Open Season begins Nov. 12 and runs through Dec. 10. During the open season, eligible Federal civilian employees may enroll, change plans or options, change from self-and-family to self-only, or cancel coverage. Any changes become effective on Jan. 6, and will be reflected on the Jan. 25 Leave and Earnings Statement.

Air Force-serviced civilian employees can submit their FEHB enrollment or changes electronically via the BEST automated system (https://www.my.af.mil/afpc2wwa/portalsecure/direct.aspx?id=2 ) or by phone (800-616-3775).

Outdoor Adventure Trips Planned

A land sailing trip to El Mirage will be held, Nov. 17. The trip costs $35 and includes transportation, instruction and required safety gear. Trip runs from  6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and has space  for 6 - 10 participants. On Nov. 24, a Pacific Palisades hike is planned. The cost of $15 includes transportation and guide. LAAFB Toastmasters Club Meetings Held

The club meets every Wednesday, noon to 1 p.m. Meetings are held in Bldg. 271, 3rd Floor, Rm. B3-642. For more information, call Cleve Carter (310) 416-9898 Ext 138." 

Fort Mac Community Center Closed for Renovations

The Community Center was closed on Sunday, Sept. 2 in order to conduct major renovations. It's scheduled to reopen on Nov. 19. During the upgrades there will be no access to the facility with the exception of selected scheduled events. The computer room and the ticket window will be closed. Tickets may still be purchased at the El Segundo Club location.

Airman's Attic Now Open

The Attic is located in Bldg. 37 on Fort MacArthur. New operating hours are Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6 to 8 pm. There are no weekend hours. For more information, call (310) 653-6767 or (310) 221-0909.

Local School Information Available on Base

Los Angeles County is composed of the City of Los Angeles plus 89 communities and more than 80 school districts The Airman & Family Readiness Center can assist you with enrollment procedures, information about magnet schools, South Bay school districts, home schooling resources and private schools. A&FRC also handles all inter- and intra- district transfer for military children.

Ticket Office Relocated to the Club

Tickets for various local attractions and movie theaters are for sale at discounted prices. The Ticket Office relocated to the cashier's office in The Club (Bldg. 270) earlier this year. Outdoor Recreation is still the place to go to rent equipment and sign up for adventure trips; however, discount tickets are no longer sold at Outdoor Adventures.
