Space Systems Engineering & Risk Management Symposium Set

Registration is underway for the Seventh National Space Systems Engineering & Risk Management Symposium to be held Feb. 27 through 29 at the Renaissance Montura Hotel in Los Angeles.

Sponsored by  Space and Missile Systems Center, The Aerospace Corporation and NASA, this year's theme is "Risk-Informed Mission Assurance and Safety with Emphasis on Early Acquisition and Design."

SMC Commander Lt. Gen. Michael A. Hamel is scheduled to deliver opening remarks at 8 a.m. on Feb. 27 and SMC Executive Director Douglas L. Loverro will moderate an executive panel following the opening remarks.

Dr. Wanda M. Austin, president and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, will deliver opening remarks and a keynote address at 8 a.m. on Feb. 28. Addressing the symposium after Dr. Austin will be Bryan O'Connor, chief of NASA's Safety and Mission Assurance organization.

Also participating will be representatives from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, Stanford University, Caltech and other organizations.
