New Voter Assistance Office Now Open Published Jan. 31, 2011 By Peggy Hodge SMC Public Affairs LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Installation Voting Assistance office is now open. Located in Bldg. 272, 3rd Floor, inside the TRICARE Service Center, office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. everyday The IVA office services are open to everyone with access to the base--active duty, reserve, and retired military personnel and any voting-age dependents; government civilians; and contractors or any other individual. "This is a big change in the voting assistance program this year," said Maj. Elgin Manigo, Los Angeles AFB Voting Assistance officer. "We can now provide our services to anyone who works at, or visits, this installation." The office can provide information and assistance concerning voter registration issues and absentee ballot procedures. They may provide the applicant with the Federal Postcard Application or the National Voter Registration form and provide assistance to individuals in completing the forms. The FPCA form should be used by all uniformed service personnel and their family members, as well as all overseas U.S. citizens to register to vote, update information with the local voter registration office (e.g., report address change) or request an absentee ballot. The NVRF form can be used to register to vote and update information, such as change of address with the local voter registration offices.
