LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, Calif -- As you walk through Los Angeles Air Force Base’s courtyard today, you will see a collection of new banners themed around SSC’s focus on countering space threats and ensuring our capabilities are resilient by 2026. These banners are intended to serve as a reminder to ourselves and all who visit this Command of the urgency of SSC’s mission. The threats in space are real and they are imminent.
SSC efforts at the programmatic and personnel levels, together with requirements of our joint force warfighters, and the collaboration with our partners in government, industry and academia, call for the best, most resilient capabilities and our greatest commitment to deliver. We will not be complacent.
At SSC, we work together in our dedication to our warfighters and to defending the U.S. and our allies against adversaries becoming increasingly more brazen in their actions in space.
In the weeks and months ahead, you will see additional elements of SSC’s space threats awareness campaign, communicating our role in defending the nation in space. From these new courtyard banners, to straightforward discussions at space and defense conferences and industry engagements; from media interviews and news articles to congressional meetings to social media outreach, we will not stop telling our story. The threat is real and we are laser focused on staying ahead.
Each of us at SSC, including those at our our LA Garrison, our Space Launch Deltas and our GSU’s across the nation, has a critical role in defending the freedoms that those before us have fought to preserve.
