Airman & Family Readiness Center Holds Classes

All Classes/Workshops are held in the A&FRC Classroom, Bldg. 272, and Rm. C1-235. To register for classes, call (310) 653-5428.

Four Lenses: Know Your Boss, Aug. 20, 8 to 11:30 a.m.
This three and half hour workshop focuses on temperament intelligence using the Four Lenses method -knowledge and application in personality temperament. This methodology can become a power skill for understanding and appreciating others in many settings including employee's performances, goal setting, team/project management, leadership and personal relationships.

Group Pre-Separation Class, Aug. 20 1 to 2 p.m.
This class is mandatory for all personnel retiring/separating from the military. It should be taken at least 90 days before your date of retiring/separating or signing up for the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Class.

Transition Assistance Program, Aug. 21 through 24
Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is dedicated to equipping separating and retiring military personnel for reentry to private sector. The program interfaces with State of California, Department of Veterans Affairs and Disabled American Veterans. Bring your medical records. Dress: Casual Business.

School Carpool Meeting

A carpool meeting will be held Aug 29, 6 to 8 p.m. at Fort Mac Arthur's Community Center. Parents of school age children will discuss carpool options for the upcoming school year. The Los Angeles AFB Spouses' Club will sponsor an ice cream social for all K-8 children during the meeting.

Sports Shorts

A dodge ball tournament will be held Aug. 21 at the Fitness Center. Sign up your five-player team or join the player's pool today at the front desk. Tournament times are to be determined. Call Tara Thompson for more information at (310) 653-6771.

A flag football sports rep meeting will be held, Aug. 22. Sports representatives wanting to discuss the impending flag football season and submit team rosters and letters of intent must meet in the Services conference room on the fourth floor in building 272 at 1 p.m. For more information, call Jesse Bobbett at (310)653-6771.

Outdoor Adventures Offers Three Day Mammoth Mountain Bike Adventure

Departure from Outdoor Recreation will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 with hotel arrival at approximately 8 p.m. The departure for home will be at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 arriving back on base at approximately 10 p.m. The cost of $325 includes transportation, two-day bike rental, two-day pass lift tickets and hotel accommodations for three days/two nights. Food and personal riding safety gear are not included. The cost drops to $250 if you have your own bike. Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month, themed "Hispanic Americans: Making a Positive Impact on American Society," will be celebrated Oct. 18 in the Paulikas Mall at 11 a.m. Belinda Guadarrama, president and CEO of GC Micro, will be the guest speaker. Ticket Office Relocated

Effective June 11, the Ticket Office relocated to the cashier's office in The Club (Bldg. 270). Purpose of the move is to bring this important office closer to base traffic so as to be more convenient for its customers. Telephone number for tickets is (310) 653-1304. Tickets for various local attractions and movie theaters are for sale at discounted prices. Outdoor Recreation is still the place to go to rent equipment and sign up for adventure trips.
