USC interns interact with SMC and Los Angeles Air Force Base

Student interns John Howard, Jason Woodrum and Dejha Harris from the University of Southern California's Adults and Healthy Aging Department, and Rebecca Dardon from USC's Community, Organization, Planning and Administration Department are welcomed by Mark Maxfield, 61st Force Support Squadron director, Maj. Kristene Harris, 61st Medical Squadron's Mental Health and Family Advocacy program manager, Patricia Brown, Airman and Family Services Flight chief and Cathy Howard, Airman and Family Readiness Center director during an introductory reception Sept. 9 hosted in the A&FRC at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, Calif. A partnership between USC's Masters in Social Work program and the Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles AFB will play a critical role in preparing future graduates for contemporary clinical issues in their chosen profession by providing.an understanding of military culture and the commitment that is made by the men and women of the armed forces, as well as the sacrifices of their families.
