Children from the Child Development Center circles Ben Wolf from the Kiowa Indian Tribe as he beats his drum and chants a native song, Nov. 15. Mr. Wolf visited the center for two days and spent time with the children introducing them to Indian folklore, dances and helped with crafts. The base celebrated Native American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month along with The Aerospace Corporation in order to bring aware to the many contributions provided the Native Americans throughout history. DSP 40th Anniversary

Redondo Beach Mayor Mike Gin (pictured far right) presents a proclamation to Col. Scott Larrimore, Space Based Infrared Systems Wing, and John Kravec, Northrop Grumman Space Systems Division DSP program manager, at the Redondo Beach City Council meeting, Oct. 19. The proclamation recognized the 40th Anniversary of the Defense Support Program satellites, which were built locally in Redondo Beach.
